2. Intellectual Property Rights
2.1. Content Ownership: All content produced by OFF MIRROR STUDIO, including but not limited to films, trailers, scripts, images, logos, audio clips, and text, is the exclusive property of OFF MIRROR STUDIO and is protected by Canadian and international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.
2.2. License to View: We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to access and view our content for personal, non-commercial use only. You may not download, copy, distribute, sell, broadcast, or modify any part of our films or website content without our prior written consent.
2.3. User-Generated Content: If you share our content on social media (e.g., reposting trailers), you must credit OFF MIRROR STUDIO and provide a link back to our original source.
3. Funding, Grants, and Sponsorships
3.1. Nature of Support: Financial contributions, including private donations, corporate sponsorships, and institutional grants, are provided to support the artistic mission and production costs of OFF MIRROR STUDIO.
3.2. Artistic Independence: Unless explicitly stated in a separate written agreement, providing funds (via grant or donation) does not grant the funder ownership rights, creative control, or editorial influence over the content. OFF MIRROR STUDIO retains full creative freedom and final decision-making power over all projects.
3.3. Specific Grant Agreements: In the event of any conflict between these Terms and a specific Grant Agreement signed by OFF MIRROR STUDIO and a funding body, the provisions of the signed Grant Agreement shall prevail.
3.4. No Refunds and Project Risks: All financial contributions are final and non-refundable, regardless of whether the project is completed, delayed, or cancelled. OFF MIRROR STUDIO does not guarantee the completion of any specific project and is not liable to return funds in the event of project cancellation. Exception: Specific refund obligations outlined in a signed Grant Agreement shall take precedence.
3.5. Recognition: Logos and acknowledgments for grant providers will be placed in film credits and on the website as stipulated in the respective grant requirements.
4. Content Disclaimer & Participation
4.1. Artistic Nature: Our films are artistic works that may blend documentary elements with fiction and metaphorical narrative. Content represents the subjective artistic vision of the creators. Scenes may be staged, reconstructed, or stylized for artistic purposes.
4.2. Irrevocability of Participation: If you participate in our projects (as a subject, actor, or contributor), you acknowledge that the filmmaking process relies on the permanence of your contribution. All consents given for the use of your image, voice, or performance are irrevocable once filming has commenced, unless provided otherwise in a signed Appearance Release.
4.3. No Professional Advice: Content provided is for artistic, educational, and informational purposes only.
5. Unsolicited Creative Submissions
5.1. No Acceptance: OFF MIRROR STUDIO does not accept or consider unsolicited scripts, pitches, or creative concepts.
5.2. Waiver of Rights: If you send us unsolicited materials despite this policy, you agree that OFF MIRROR STUDIO is not entitled to provide any compensation, credit, or acknowledgement if we develop projects that may seem similar to your submission.
6. Third-Party Services and External Links
6.1. Platform Reliance: Our Service operates using third-party platforms (e.g., Framer, Vimeo, YouTube). We are not liable for any service interruptions, video removal, or data loss caused by these providers.
6.2. Payment Processing: Transactions are processed securely by third-party gateways (e.g., Stripe, PayPal). OFF MIRROR STUDIO does not store your payment card details.
